Describe your job at C&A.
I’m a senior graphic designer in the Art department at Copy & Art. I handle both client and internal projects with a focus on digital media, websites, and video.
If you had to choose 3 words to describe your role at C&A, what would they be?
Ideation, alignment, mentoring
What inspires you?
I’ve always been drawn to illustration and visual storytelling. I really love the typography and elegance of the illustration in vintage magazine ads. I think illustration in advertising needs to make a comeback.
My parents both work in UX so I always think about clarity and readability as well when I’m designing. I like to have both “right brain” and “left brain” working at the same time.
What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?
I watch a lot of DIY Youtube, from upcycling to home renovation. Right now, I live in an apartment so I don’t have much space to work on DIY projects. However, I recently received a vinyl cutting machine from a relative and I’ve been designing decals for our electronics.
What is a fun fact about you?
I took voice lessons in high school and was involved in musical theatre. If my karaoke experience is anything to go by, I still have a pretty solid tenor range.
How do you work through a creative block?
Pencil and paper! I also find looking at Pinterest a great source of ideas. Think outside the box and put a twist on your concepts by drawing on influences outside of the obvious.
