Group Copy Supervisor

As a Copy Supervisor you will be a hands-on manager of the daily creative requirements for your assigned brand(s), ensuring all projects are delivered on time and on budget and meet the highest standards of design excellence. You will communicate and engage with agency leaders to supervise the workload for your assigned brand(s) and ensure the accuracy of all manuscripts including referencing, annotating, and submissions to ensure a smooth medical/legal review process. You will present creative work to clients regularly with little to no supervision. In addition to day-to-day projects, you will be involved in strategic brainstorming and brand brief development. This may include creating and presenting creative concepts alongside your supervisor.

  • Supervise direct reports (copywriters and freelancers), overseeing their work closely and helping to advance their professional development through performance reviews and professional development plans
  • Contribute bold, strategic, and persuasive ideas while executing quality creative work for a broad range of clients
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the brand strategically, scientifically, and creatively
  • Find creative, impactful, and scientifically accurate ways to communicate data and messages to solve client requests
  • Supervise direct reports (copywriters and freelancers), overseeing their work closely and helping to advance their professional development through performance reviews and professional development plans
  • Foster a collaborative working environment among all team members and departments
  • Proactively research new data and studies for your assigned brand’s use and expand your knowledge of industry trends so you can share new ideas with your team
  • Participate in new business pitches and other agency initiatives
  • Facilitate creative solutions to difficult internal and external requests in an efficient and professional manner
  • Represent creative department by effectively and persuasively presenting creative work to clients without supervision, depending on the project
  • Establish strong, lasting, and respected client relationships
  • Support clients at MLR meetings and come up with innovative solutions to approval challenges on the spot
  • Attend market research and workshops

About You: 

  • Completed Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Advertising or another related field
  • At least 3 years of copy supervisory experience within a fast-paced agency ready to take on a higher level of brand responsibility
  • Pharmaceutical and/or healthcare copywriting experience is a must
  • A compelling portfolio included with your application (can be website, file sharing link or PDF attachment)
  • Solid presentations skills
  • Proven ability to engage in creative conversations internally and with clients
  • A confident nature, not afraid to suggest new ideas
  • Motivated to seek/gain additional creative opportunities and/or work on new business pitches
  • High degree of autonomy while keeping senior-level copy team informed of pertinent changes and needs, such as future resource needs or large client presentations
